4 Pairs of Sunglasses You Need This Season

This spring, we’re partnering with our favorite style bloggers to show us how they wear this season’s hottest trends. From makeup tutorials to style tips, we’re excited to see how these fashionistas take runway trends and make them all their own.

This week, we’re welcoming Candace from Live, Love and Read to share styling tips for her favorite pairs of sunglasses—and why you should always have multiple pairs in rotation.

It has been said a time or two that “a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes.” While I do agree with that, I also think there is another accessory that a girl can never have too many pairs of – sunglasses! A pair of sunglasses is the one accessory that has the power to completely transform your look. They come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. When it comes to eyewear, the sky’s the limit.

Much like our choice in clothing, our choice of eyewear can be reflective of our mood! Rather than getting stuck in the rut of wearing the same pair of sunglasses, every day, with every outfit (we’ve all done it at some point), I have made the decision to change things up for the spring and summer season by allowing my sunglasses to be a more prominent role in my look for the day!

Casual Wayfarer

One of the easiest ways to complete your casual look of the day is by adding a pair of wayfarer frames! Wayfarers have been the ultimate go-to sunglasses since the 1950s.  With this layer-inspired look, I love how the wayfarer frames both complete and balance this outfit. I paired these sunglasses from Meijer with a tunic dress, cuffed jeans and the Massini Festival Sandal.

Vintage Round

And on Saturdays, we brunch al fresco, and nothing screams brunch attire quite like a pastel poncho and t-shirt dress paired with vintage round frames. This frame shape can make the simplest outfit instantly chic and feminine. I loved the pop of color and how it accents this Proof Dress and Love By Design Shawl as well as my lipstick. I pulled the outfit together with a Falls Creek Sandal and diamond stud earrings.

Aviator Cool

Without fail, aviators are my go-to sunglasses of choice when I want to feel cooler than I really am.  Although aviators pair well with nearly any outfit, I really enjoy wearing them with classic prints like plaid. In my opinion, the aviator frames can tone down the preppiness of a plaid or tartan print and make your look instantly cool, rather than preppy! I paired these aviators from Meijer with the Almost Famous tunic, Massini Ankle Length jeggings and diamond stud earrings.

Oversized Round

For this look, I allowed the sunglasses to be the foundational piece and created the outfit around the frame. There’s something amazingly feminine about an oversized round sunglass frame, so I chose to go with this long double slit maxi dress. I particularly love how the frames centralize the focus on the Aztec print of this Hint of Mint maxi dress. This look is perfect for a late afternoon/early evening date with your honey.

And that’s a wrap! Just a couple of different frame choices and how they’ve inspired my style!  I hope this post inspires you to be a bit more adventurous when selecting your eyewear accessory of the day.
