Favorite Spring Floral: Two Ways

This spring, we’re partnering with our favorite style bloggers to show us how they wear this season’s hottest trends. From makeup tutorials to style tips, we’re excited to see how these fashionistas take runway trends and make them all their own.

This week, we’re welcoming Amanda from Girl About Columbus and Erin from Planning for Paris to share their top ways to wear this spring’s hottest print: floral. This versatile trend can be worn countless ways, but thanks to Amanda and Erin, here are our two favs just for you.

Girl About Columbus

I just had a baby, so (naturally) this spring, I will be reaching for quite a bit of black before I shed my extra pregnancy pounds. However, I LOVE color so I always must have a pop of it somewhere! And why not mix that color with an on-point spring trend: Florals?

For an afternoon hanging out in downtown Columbus, I chose to pair Meijer’s floral leggings with a black tunic top.

I topped off the look with a pop of pink lip color and a neutral crossbody bag that I scored on major sale at Meijer.

The floral leggings are arguably the softest pair I own while the black tunic top is so versatile – it will obviously be a major player in my closet all year long.

The thing that I love the most about spring is the promise of warmer temps.  However, at least in Ohio, the weather can still be all over the place; cold in the mornings and warmer by the afternoon.  And then you have those spring showers.  For this reason, layers are key for spring – especially in this season’s favorite floral print.

It is the perfect weather for a light sweater or scarf that can easily be removed for the warmer temps in the afternoons.

Another way that I love layering for spring is leggings under light, springy dresses.  I paired this chambray dress with leggings and then lightened up the outfit with a floral scarf to give the look a lighter feel.

This outfit – head-to-toe Meijer! – could easily be shifted to an evening look with heels instead of flats or throw on a pair of rain boots for those rainy spring days. Complete the look with a tote bag to catch all those layers that are inevitably taken on and off throughout the day!
