As fall transitions us to cooler months, we’re partnering with our favorite style bloggers to show us how they wear this season’s hottest trends. From style tips to makeup trends to home décor, we’re excited to see how these fashionistas gear up for fall weather.
This week, we’re welcoming Lisa from LMP Collections to share her love for plaid and show us how she dresses the print up and down, so it can truly be worn all season long.
I believe plaid shirts should be an essential in every girl’s closet because they are so easily worn throughout every season. A plaid top can be effortlessly dressed down for a casual street style look and I’m also a firm believe that plaid tops can (and should be) used for dressier occasions as well! Here’s how I love to style it both ways.
Street Style for Cozy Comfort
For a casual look, I love using a plaid top as a layering piece. It’s an extra element to an already laidback look and gives an extra pop to make the look more exciting. Plus it’s such a great summer-to-fall transitional look. My style is very versatile, but I love keeping bohemian elements to all my outfits.
I love this plaid top by Beach Lunch Lounge from Meijer so much, and I paired it with a pair of distressed denim by Earl Jean and a graphic tee by Ultra Flirt (both also from Meijer). I styled with a hat and pair of platform fringe sandals to pull the whole outfit together and allowed me to stay true to my inner boho feels. Oh and I’ve gotta tell you how comfortable this distressed denim is, I was so surprised!
Dressed Up with Pretty Details
When we think plaid, it doesn’t always scream dressy to me, but the right elements totally make it work! I kept some bohemian elements, per usual, by adding one of my personal favorite handkerchief midi skirts and I think it pairs so nicely with this plaid top from Meijer. I love the pretty detailing on the back of the shirt too; it makes this outfit look even more feminine. I complemented the pairing with nude heels and earrings. This look would be perfect for a dinner date or even for work, depending on your dress code!
Like I mentioned, plaid is an essential in every girl’s closet. I promise you it’s the perfect laying piece—tie it around your waist or throw it on over your workout outfit after the gym. And the right pieces styled with it—pretty details and cute skirts—make plaid a fun, chic option as well.
