3 Stylish (and Comfy) Alternatives to Your Go-To Pair of Leggings

As spring begins to peek around the corner, we’re partnering with our favorite style bloggers to show us how they wear the season’s hottest trends. From fashion tips to makeup trends to home décor, we’re excited to see how these fashionistas gear up for a new year of style.

This week we’re welcoming Andrea of Blonde Bedhead to share a few stylish, yet comfortable alternatives to your go-to pair of leggings – including joggers, soft shorts and culottes!

I’m guilty of occasionally leaving the house in a pair of leggings and crewneck sweatshirt—comfortable yes, but doesn’t inspire much style. Whether you’re running errands or grabbing dinner with friends, jogger pants, soft shorts and culottes are a few great alternatives to consider for legging-level comfort, but high-level style.

Jogger Style

Joggers are an easy, chic replacement for leggings. They’re just as cozy, but with an athleisure vibe—so I styled this outfit as such. My love for distressed denim also transcends to this pair of joggers because they have knee rips. It gives the jogger pants a bit of an edge, which I always gravitate towards!

I added a crop top, a pair of running shoes and a silky olive green bomber that I also snatched up at Meijer. I love the oatmeal tone of the joggers and olive green tones for spring, just a few neutral shades I’m wearing on repeat so far this season.

Soft Short Style

Now that we’re creeping into summer, high-waisted shorts like these are a great option for hot, humid days. Tuck in a billowy top, add a crop top or wear with a body suit—there really are so many styling choices when it comes to a pair of versatile shorts.

I added a jean jacket and platform oxfords to keep a more casual style. But what I love about these shorts is you could easily add a pair of pumps and leather jacket to style for cocktails!

Culotte Style

Culottes are universally flattering and equally as comfortable as leggings. The pant style can work for any occasion — I regularly rock them for client meetings with a structured top, or for brunch and shopping with friends with an off-the-shoulder shirt (like this!).

The culottes from Meijer come in several colors, but a black pair transitions well from season-to-season, making them easy to re-style! I paired my culottes with this fun take on the off-the-shoulder trend, another great top I scored from Meijer in olive green. It also comes in blush, which was a difficult decision to make, since I’m digging both blush and olive green tones this season!
