This spring, we’re partnering with our favorite style bloggers to show us how they wear this season’s hottest trends and prepare for warmer weather. From makeup tutorials to style tips, we’re excited to see how these fashionistas take runway trends and makeup staples and make them all their own.
This week, we’re welcoming Steph from White Coat Wardrobe to share her skincare essentials for spring. From the perfect cleansing cloth to a tinted face cream with SPF, she’s got you covered with the best products for the season.
Hello, friends! My name is Steph and I am a full-time Physician Assistant and part-time style blogger over at White Coat Wardrobe. Most days, you can find me working 12(ish) hour shifts in the Emergency Department. In my free time, I love to take Barre classes, play with my dog and outfit plan. My busy schedule has made it necessary for me to streamline my beauty regimen, so I tend to gravitate towards products that are multi-function! Below are my six essential items that I can’t imagine getting through Spring without.
1. Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths
These are my #1 MUST HAVE! I have about four of these floating between my vanity, car, gym bag and locker at work. I’m a huge fan of Cetaphil products because they are gentle but extremely effective in cleaning off stubborn makeup. I also have somewhat sensitive, acne-prone skin and these do not irritate or break me out at all. I have tried many different brands of cleansing cloths, but what I love most about these is the textured cloth, subtle “clean” scent and plastic snapping lid so the product doesn’t dry out. I use these at least once a day, sometimes more if I am heading straight to work after Barre class.
2. Shea Moisture Hand & Body Scrub
Shea Moisture is my favorite brand of body scrubs. I am currently using the Coconut & Hibiscus scent, but I have tried nearly all of them and think they all are yummy! This one smells like the beach, which is putting me in the mood for my upcoming honeymoon and warmer weather. I use this scrub in the place of body wash about twice a week. It leaves my skin super smooth and evens out rough patches such as heels and elbows. This scrub makes a great first step to your favorite sunless tanning product, also!
3. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
There have been many beauty balms and color corrective (CC) creams that have graced my makeup drawer, but this is the one that I reach for time and time again. I hate to have anything on my face that feels cakey or heavy, and Maybelline’s Dream Fresh BB Cream is the perfect way to have coverage without adding weight. I love the added benefits of moisture and brightening while also providing SPF 30. Ladies, NEVER forget SPF as a part of your daily regimen, especially in the spring and summer. It is, in my opinion, the one step that you should never miss!
4. Maybelline Colossal Volum Express Mascara
This mascara has been another favorite of mine for a number of years now. For one, yellow is my favorite color, so I was instantly drawn to the packaging! The brush separates and defines each lash while adding tons of volume. I like to build up two or three layers and love that this mascara does not produce even a hint of the “clumpy” effect. This mascara comes in regular and waterproof but has INCREDIBLE staying power in the regular form.
5. Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy
I have been a lip product addict since I was probably in kindergarten. When I was younger, I was all about sparkles and crazy flavors (haha!). As I have aged, I tend to lean toward something that is super moisturizing without being too heavy, and I prefer a slight tint. This Vaseline Lip Therapy is a newer addition to my regimen, but I am hooked! I love the slightly rose-y scent and the subtle pink hue is a great way to ease into brighter colors for warmer weather. Vaseline is a brand that I have loved and trusted for years, and I am so happy to see them come out with this line!
6. Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Aquaphor Healing Ointment is another item that has been in my beauty bag for years. This product is so multi-functional that I am STILL finding new uses for my Aquaphor tube, even now! As a PA student and eventually practicing PA, my hands undergo the stresses of constant hand washing and wearing gloves. While lotion provides a temporary fix, I grab for my Aquaphor to heal cracks and torn cuticles. I also use this as a lip balm in a pinch, or sometimes even to smooth the frizzy ends of my ponytail or braid! This is a product that I will continue to reach for on a daily basis.
Thanks so much for reading, and thanks to the Meijer Style team for hosting me! I would love for you all to stop by and introduce yourselves. I look forward to “meeting” you and hearing what your beauty must-haves are.
